Les crêpes

Last saturday in France we had a holiday : la Chandeleur. For "la Chandeleur" we are cooking french crêpes. The tradition is to blow up them having a gold coin in the hand ! In french we say "faire sauter les crêpes". If you do that you should be lucky...

Streets' names

I don't know if you have the same feeling but when I walk in a village or a town I like to read the streets' names on the plaques. Today we had a rainy morning, in France we say "il pleut des cordes !",but I went in the village and took pictures to share...

Rue Claude MONET

The Monet's foundation will open it's doors on march 29th. Now the "Rue Claude MONET" is deserted in the afternoon but soon many people, coming from all over the world, will walk there ! I love that time, when you can walk in the village listening to...

Snowflakes biscuits

I love snow. When it falls I like to walk and receive my friends. So on Sunday I made "snowflakes biscuits". they are easy to cook and delicious. We ate them with hot spiced cider from a local producer.

Rue de la dîme

This name refers to an old tax that peasants had to give to the clergy at Middle Ages.It was a rough tax and in memory many villages still have a "rue de la dîme" wich represents the place where the peasants had to come and give the tax.

Can you believe it ?

Spring is coming but last week there was snow on Giverny ! On tuesday morning I went in the village, near the old station wich is now a village hall, and I saw the snow falling on the trees.

Frost

On wednesday morning, I went in the village . It was really beautiful with that thin layer of frost and the sun ! I had a walk along the Seine then rue Claude Monet and Clos Peter Edge. along the Seine Clos Peter Edge Rue Claude Monet, Hôtel Baudy

"Pre-fall" colours today

Another sunny wednesday in Normandy, but fall colours are coming ! Rue Claude Monet I found that lovely yellow flower ans realised we are not still in Summer.

Here comes the fall

I love that season and its colors. We always think to Giverny with pink, yellow, red... flowers, but in fall it's wonderful ! Here is a picture of a great virginia creeper in the "Chemin Blanche Hoschedé Monet".
